ABOUT THE SEPAKERS

1. Anthony Leung Shing:
Tony joined PwC in February 2009 and was promoted to Partner as from 1 July 2011. At PwC, Tony occupies the position of Tax Leader and oversees the delivery of taxation compliance and advisory services as well as other specialist services to large multinational and offshore companies.

Prior to joining PwC, Tony spent over 13 years in the UK and was Head of Project Finance at PKF (UK) where he worked on a wide range of projects world-wide for various funding banks. He also coordinated, amongst others, the taxation work on projects and dealt with the international compliance issues.

Tony is a Chartered Accountant (UK), Chartered Tax Adviser (UK) and holds Bachelor in Economics, together with a Masters degree in Business Administration.

2. Wasoudeo Balloo
Wasoudeo has extensive experience in the field of taxation and in the Mauritian financial services sector. He has advised a number of Mauritius clients on implication of BEPS on their group structures. He has also participated in the working group set up by MRA to assist in drafting the FATCA and CRS guidance Note for Mauritius. He has actively participated in the working group advising Mauritius on the impact of the OECD multilateral instruments on the financial services sector.

Moreover Wasoudeo has attended, organized and participated as speaker in a number of international tax conferences including the Asia/Africa IFA conferences and has also participated in a number of talks organized by the IFA Mauritius branch, MIOD, ACCA, MIPA, Bank CFO forum and STEP.

3. Rajneesh Phokeer
Rajneesh Phokeer currently works as Assistant Manager at the Financial Services Promotion Agency(FSPA). Prior to joining the FSPA, Rajneesh worked at the Financial Services Commission in the Insurance and Pensions Department.

Rajneesh holds a Master’s degree in Financial Services, Risk and Operations from the Glasgow Caledonian University as well as a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from the University of London. He is an enrolled Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
